In 2014, Michael was introduced to Kakenya’s story through a colleague who had been impressed with her TED talk. Michael was so moved by what he heard that he continued to dig a little deeper to learn more about her mission and vision and subsequently, both he and Megan had the opportunity to meet Kakenya while she was visiting Washington DC a short time later. From there, the relationship was born.
Kakenya’s Dream provides life-changing education to empower girls, end harmful traditional practices, and uplift rural communities in Kenya. FFF’s interest and commitment to Kakenya’s Dream stems from their manageable size, that they have a focus on education, are founded and run by a highly committed, passionate individual with whom they have a personal connection.
